In this article we explain why non-trivial AI agents are mathematically impossible to achieve without the patented Tau technology.
AI agents are meant to reliably execute complex commands. These commands exist within the domain of computers, so they are essentially computer programs. This setting intertwines AI with precise logical reasoning alongside programming capabilities. It introduces a profound challenge: combining these elements while enabling commands that relate to other commands or pieces of knowledge. For example: “If any statement I make in the future implies that I will come home at a certain time, then turn on the lights at that time”. The pivotal term here is “imply”, indicating a logical relationship between future sentences.
Another example that demonstrates this absolute necessity in the scope of safe AI is the command: “If any of my future commands will not satisfy these safety conditions, then don’t execute it.”

No logical or programming framework can reliably address commands that speak about other commands and the logical relations between them.
